Description: On clear days, San Diego's skyline is framed by a sky phenomena referred to as "The Belt Of Venus". Ancient astronomers noticed that the planet Venus had a tendency to appear in a certain part of the early morning sky or early evening sky whenever this pink band was also present. They began referring to the band of color as the "Belt of Venus". The belt is actually reflected sunlight from the just finished sunset or imminent sunrise and the dark band underneath is the shadow of the Earth passing through the Earth's atmosphere.

This spectacular print, by photographer Oscar G Medina, captures the amazing colors of the Belt of Venus along with the golden tones of reflected light from the sunset sky, reflecting off the buildings in San Diego's skyline. A departing cruise ship is located at the center of the print, along the Embarcadero.

This print is available in a choice of satin or glossy finish photographic paper, smooth or textured fine art paper, or ready to stretch and mount artists canvas. The projected lifespan of this print is 200+ years.

This is the recommended size if you plan on "matting" and framing the print. The largest standard size matte is 60 inches.
